A Little About the Company

Astronergy Solar is a Chinese-based solar cell and solar panel manufacturing company founded in 2006. It is a division of CHINT Group, a leading distribution and electrical power transmission company in China owned by billionaire entrepreneur Nan Cunhui. According to Forbes, CHINT Group is one of the largest privately-owned companies in the country.

Astronergy Solar has PV cell manufacturing capacity of 13GW and PV panel manufacturing of 20GW in 2022. Nowadays, it has 5 manufacturing bases in China and Thailand. And there are still 5 manufacturing of Astronergy under their construction. The company specialized in commercial and solar farm projects, with its most popular panel series being 72 cells of larger dimensions.

After conducting a locally distributed trial in Australia from 2009 to 2012, Astronergy Solar made a move to re-enter the Australian market back in 2017, forming partnerships with leading renewable product distributors. The company has invested over $60M in large-scale solar farm projects in Australia but currently has a limited presence in the residential and commercial markets.

Astronergy Smart Factory Enhancements

Astronergy has supplied this informative video to show off the intuitive and unique detection system for defects in the Astronergy ‘Smart Factories’

As you can see, the automated process can identify inconsistencies in solar cells that could otherwise be overlooked by the naked eye. Using artificial intelligence to scan for cracks and impurities, hotspots in the build can be identified and dealt with before leaving the factory. In instances of an identified impurity in the body, a production worker will withdraw the panel from the production line to rectify the issue.

The Astronergy factory process gives more assurance to customers and longevity in the production life of the panels themselves. The use of AI in these facilities assists greatly in determining issues that a human QC team could otherwise miss.

The Astro 5 Semi (CHSM60M-HC) is designed for the Australian residential market with 54 half-cut 182mm cells with a rating of up to 460W.
The solar panels come with max efficiency up to an impressive 21.3% which Astronergy note is supported by innovative busbar technology and improved cell cutting procedures
The mono PERC+ Cells have a lower degradation rate providing a guarantee of 84.80% of the nameplate power rating at the end of the 25 year performance warranty period

Astronergy Warranty

Astronergy has also set the bar when it comes to warranty and adequate coverage for its range of solar panels. With a performance and product warranty, our customers can rest assured that their installation has all the necessary coverage for a suitable period. The warranty for the product covers manufacturing faults in the units and was increased to 12 years of coverage in 2019. The performance warranty is an impressive 25 years.
