100kW Solar Installation, DEKA Site VIC

The Brief

The solar installation project at 15 Williams Street, Melbourne CBD proved to be an challenge, primarily owing to the architectural complexity of the impressive 22-story building. The logistical hurdle of transporting nearly 6 tonnes of solar panels to the rooftop necessitated careful project management. Furthermore, the elevated height introduced concerns about wind loads, posing a unique challenge in securely affixing the PV panels to the roof.

The Solution

KUGA implemented a comprehensive solution for the building. Effective strategies were ensured to facilitate the transportation and installation of the 100kW solar system. KUGA carefully designed a robust rail system to secure the solar panels, addressing wind load concerns associated with the building’s considerable height. This system generates 110.8 MWh of solar energy every year and saves 110.36 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
