Case Study
1.2MW Solar Installation, Melbourne West VIC
The Brief
Ballantyne KL, a prominent dairy product producer headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, embarked on a significant sustainability initiative in May 2022. They selected KUGA Electrical as their trusted EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partner for a substantial 1.2MW solar installation project. Ballantyne faced a critical need for a supplier who could complete the solar installation before the end of the financial year. The entire project, from the initial site inspection to practical completion, had to be accomplished within a demanding timeframe of just 10 weeks. To ensure this, KUGA Electrical’s installation underwent rigorous scrutiny by two external consultants. These consultants worked independently to validate and optimise every facet of the solar system, guaranteeing compliance with all relevant standards and maximising efficiency.
The Solution
KUGA installed 2667 solar panels, covering most of the existing roof space. This provided the Altona site with a total system capacity of 1.2MW, delivering 1.39GWh of energy every year, or about 32% of the facility’s total usage.
